The Family Liaison Officer (FLO) is a Social Worker who works at the Transition Centre. The Officer’s role consists in welcoming injured service members and their families upon arrival at the unit, assessing their needs and providing appropriate services and support. The FLO is also the resource for families in mourning.

Some of the services provided:

• Retreat : Transitional psychosocial strategies for military members and their spouse;
• Support groups;
• Psychosocial follow-ups for individuals, couples or families;
• Training workshops on psychosocial issues, such as grieving, illness and operational stress injuries;
• Etc.
